Despite assurances, the shares were not delivered, and multiple attempts to contact the foundation were unsuccessful. Upon visiting the foundation, Rehan discovered numerous others had been similarly defrauded. Nisar Ahmed, the founder, had gained the community’s trust over several years, collecting significant amounts of money from over 100 members before absconding.

The accused created a fake app under the name Khidmath Foundation in 2024, promising to deliver Qurbani shares on Bakrid. They collected large sums via G-pay, PhonePe, and cash through agents at various locations in the city. Despite collecting payments from 1,049 customers for 2,179 shares, they only delivered 500 shares, leaving the majority defrauded.
