Three Held Who Cheated In The Name Of Selling Mahindra Vehicles

Hyderabad, Dec 24 (Maxim News) The Team-5 of Cyber Crimes PS, DD, Hyderabad have arrested Three accused persons, who cheated dishonestly by inducing the victim in guise of selling Mahindra vehicles at lesser prices and lured amount from victims by impersonating themselves as General Manager  at Mahindra CIE Automotive Limited and received money to their accounts. 

The accused persons    A1)  Tadi Naveen Kumar, Age:45yrs, Occ: Business, R/o Shanthi Nagar, Katheru,  Rajamandry, AP State A2) Kancharla Madhu, Age: 41 yrs, Occ: Business, R/o Bharath Nagar, Katheru, Rajamundry, AP State and  A3) Srinivas Durga Prasad, Age: 55 yrs, Occ: Business, R/o Dwaraka Tirumala, Rajahmundry, AP State  were involved in Cr. No. 2758/2023 U/s 66 C D of ITA Act, 419, 420IPC of PS Cyber Crimes. Incriminating material was seized from the possession of the accused person.

Received  a complaint  from V Danie Ratnam R/o Hyderabad, in which he  stated that he received a call from unknown person, who identified himself as G S Chandrasekhar, claiming to be the General Manager (HR & Administration) at Mahindra CIE Automotive Limited. Chandrashekar, stated that he was a former client of complainant  security services, informed him of their requirement for security services at a new factory located at  Phase III, Industrial Park Unit, Palamaner, NH40 Bengaluru – Tirupati Highway, Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh. Following this conversation, complainant submitted a quotation, and subsequent correspondence confirmed complainant’s company services to commence from 25th January 2024. During the discussions, Chandrashekar, purportedly from Mahindra CIE Automotive Ltd, informed of an opportunity to purchase brand new R&D and demo vehicles at discounted prices through the company’s annual auction. Trusting the credentials and the purported association with Mahindra CIE Automotive Ltd, complainant proceeded to book two Mahindra Bolero SLX vehicles, by transferring a total sum of Rs 3,54,236/- to their Account numbers from 23rd November to 25th November 2023.

It was assured that the vehicles would be delivered to complainant premises by 5 PM on 27th Nov 2023. However, upon attempting to contact Chandrasekhar, his mobile number was found to be switched off. Subsequent enquiry by the complainant revealed that the bank account provided was under an individual’s name, leading the complainant to the realization that they had fallen victim to a fraudulent scheme.

According to D. Kavitha, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cyber Crimes, the accused along with his associates hatched a plan to earn the easy money by impersonating themselves as Authorized representatives of reputed companies. The accused person along with his associates have contacted the victim impersonating themselves as General Manager of Mahindra Automotive Limited and induced him by offering the security contract to their company. After getting the victim’s confidence, the accused have created the fake quotations offering the demo Mahindra vehicles at less prices citing company annual auction and forwarded the account details mentioning the account holder names as Mahindra CIE Automotive Limited. Believing the name of the account holder as Mahindra CIE Automotive Limited, the victim transferred Rs Rs 3,54,236 to the accused accounts. The victim further came to know that it is a savings account and on an individual name. Once the victim transfers the huge money, the accused along with their associates avoid the victim’s calls. The accused along with their associates procured a number of SIM Cards to contact the victims and Bank accounts to receive the money..

The team was headed by Sri. P. Pramod Kumar, Inspector of Police, S.I’s Venkatadri, and HC Hanuman Prasad and PCs Prabhu, Ramu under the direct supervision of Kavitha and Asst. Commissioner of Police, Cyber Crimes Shiva Maruthi has cracked the case at Rajahmundry and Srisailam. The team was Proposed for Suitable Rewards for Meticulous Work by Jt. Commissioner of Police, Crimes and SIT of Hyderabad City Sri. A.V Ranganath, IPS. (Maxim News)
