TOMCOM Asked To Facilitate 10,000 Overseas Jobs For Telangana Youth

Hyderabad, Sept. 10:Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju has directed TOMCOM to prepare an action plan for 10,000 overseas placements this year.

He reviewed the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company’s activities at the Secretariat on September 10.

Jaju asked officials to expand overseas employment opportunities for Telangana youth through legitimate foreign job opportunities.

He stressed the need for a focused and result oriented approach to achieve the annual target.

The Chief Secretary also asked TOMCOM to identify countries and sectors with high demand for skilled workers.

Officials were told to design placement programmes based on international manpower requirements.

Jaju directed TOMCOM to prepare a framework for partnerships with reputed private recruitment and skill development agencies.

Under the proposed framework, eligible agencies could help identify candidates, provide training and facilitate overseas placements.

He stressed that such partnerships must ensure transparency, credibility and compliance with prescribed procedures.

The Chief Secretary also called for greater focus on skill based overseas employment.

He directed officials to prepare a roadmap with measurable targets, country wise and sector wise opportunities, training needs and timelines.

Secretary for Skill, Human Capital and Knowledge Training Initiatives D. Harichandana briefed Jaju on TOMCOM’s work.

She said TOMCOM has so far facilitated 14,509 overseas placements across 16 countries.

Jaju appreciated TOMCOM’s work and called for a substantial expansion of its activities.

He said the organisation should help more Telangana youth access suitable overseas employment opportunities.
