TPCC Chief Mahesh Kumar Goud Hits Back at Amit Shah Over Naxalism Allegations
Hyderabad, June 30, 2025 (Maxim News): Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Goud came down heavily on Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his recent remarks linking the Congress party with Naxal sympathies, calling them baseless and politically motivated.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, Goud slammed Amit Shah’s statement that Congress “encourages Naxalism,” saying,
“Is it wrong to advocate for talks under Operation Kagar? Everyone knows how the BJP government has handled terrorism and internal security over the years.”
He further criticized the BJP for its double standards on national security, pointing to past international instances where the BJP allegedly failed to act decisively.
“When Donald Trump spoke about a possible war with Pakistan, the BJP backed off. Why doesn’t Amit Shah talk about that?” Goud questioned.
Congress Committed to Peace and Security
The TPCC chief made it clear that the Congress party has always prioritized peace, internal security, and national unity. He emphasized that dialogue and diplomacy should never be seen as weakness but rather as tools to protect democracy and resolve internal conflict.
AICC Chief Kharge to Address 25,000 Congress Cadres in Hyderabad
Mahesh Kumar Goud also announced that AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge will visit Telangana on July 4 to address a massive gathering of Congress leaders and workers at LB Stadium, Hyderabad.
The event will include participation from 25,000 Congress members, including:
- Village-level presidents
- Mandal and district presidents
- General secretaries
- State-level leaders
- Representatives of affiliated associations
This rally is seen as a strategic show of strength ahead of upcoming civic polls and to bolster grassroots organization within the state.
Meeting Preparations in Full Swing
Senior leaders, including Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Vikita Srihari, and Chief Minister’s advisor Vem Narender Reddy, reviewed the arrangements at LB Stadium to ensure the success of the July 4 event. The focus will be on party strengthening, internal unity, and countering BJP’s narrative in Telangana.
