TPCC chief writes to CM to appoint construction workers for the KTPS VI phase

Hyderabad, Sept.22 (NSS): TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy today wrote an open letter to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and demanded him to appoint all those who took part in the construction of the 6th phase of the KTPS project as artisans in the Electricity department besides providing job security to them.

In his letter, the TPCC chief told the Chief Minister that the workers took part in the construction of the project despite facing a lot of accidents and alleged that the State government had forgotten the sacrifices made by them. He told the CM that the hard work of the workers was behind the success story of the Electricity department narrated by the CM recently. He said the KCR government has cheated the workers by not fulfilling his promise made to them. He reminded the CM that the KTPS project authorities promised to appoint all those who worked between 2008 and 2013 as artisans for the completion of the sixth phase of the project and added that the government had failed to fulfill its promise.

Revanth Reddy also told the CM that the CMD of TS Transco and TS Genco D. Prabhakar Rao promised to recruit the workers as artisans during the construction of the VII phase of the project and urged the workers to extend their support for the completion of the project. He said the CMD reminded the same promise while addressing media persons at paloncha guest house on October 7, 2018, besides making a written submission before the TSHRC on the issue. He told the CM that the promises made by the authorities and the CMD were not fulfilled even after five years of making the promises. (NSS)
