Traffic Restrictions on Sundays at Tank Bund
Hyderabad: The traffic restrictions and fun programmes on Tank Bund on Sundays will be postponed this Sunday, September 19, on account of the Ganesh idol immersions in and around Hussain Sagar.
Urban Development Special Chief Secretary Arvind Kumar tweeted on Thursday saying the Sunday-Funday pedestrian eve this coming Sunday wouldn’t be there.
“In view of the scheduled Ganesh Chaturthi 2021 visarjana & the accompanying traffic in & around Hussain Sagar (in accordance with court guidelines) & to ensure public safety, bwon’t have “Sunday-Funday” pedestrian eve this coming Sunday..,” he tweeted.
The Funday concept was initiated last Sunday, along with the traffic restrictions from 5 pm to 10 pm. From a performance by the ceremonial Bagpiper band of the Indian Army, arts and crafts stalls, display and sale by popular artisans from Shilparamam, food trucks, a TSCO handloom stall, free distribution of saplings by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority and a laser show were among the treats that were well received by the public.
