Tragedy In Jallikattu: Three Dead, More Than 76 Seriously Injured

Singampunari/Hyderabad, Mar 3 (Maxim News): The Jallikattu competition held in Sivagangai district of Tamil Nadu has left a deep tragedy. The unexpected accident that occurred during this celebration, which was supposed to be celebrated amidst joy and happiness, has shocked the locals.

The Jallikattu competition, which is a part of the culture of Tamil Nadu, began with great enthusiasm near Singampunari in Sivagangai district.

However, during the competition, the bulls that entered the ring suddenly lost control and charged at the spectators. As the bulls broke through the protective shields, a stampede-like situation arose there.

Three people lost their lives on the spot in the accident. More than 76 people were seriously injured. Medical sources are concerned that the death toll may rise as many of the injured are in critical condition.

The victims are being immediately shifted to nearby hospitals and are being provided emergency treatment.

There has been criticism over the lack of proper security arrangements at such competitions, which are attended by thousands of people every year.

The police are investigating whether the barricades that are supposed to prevent the bulls from entering the audience gallery are weak. The entire area is in tears as the houses are filled with tragedy during the festival. (Maxim News)
