Transfers Of 47 Municipal Commissioners Ahead of Elections

Hyderabad, Jan. 21 (Maxim News): The Telangana government has transferred 47 municipal commissioners across the state ahead of the upcoming second phase of general municipal elections.

Officials said the move follows Election Commission guidelines to ensure free, fair, and transparent conduct of the polls.

The Municipal Administration Department issued the transfer orders through Government Order No. 87.

The order was released by Municipal Administration Secretary T K Sridevi. Transfers were made on administrative grounds, including officers working in their home districts and those serving long tenures at one location.

According to the order, C V N Raju was transferred from Adilabad Municipality as Grade III Commissioner and posted as Secretary of Ramagundam Municipal Corporation.

G Raju was appointed as the new Municipal Commissioner of Adilabad from Kothapalli.

Musab Ahmed was transferred from Nalgonda Municipal Corporation to Huzurabad Municipality. B Srinivas moved from Aleru to Huzurnagar Municipality.

D. Jaitram was posted as Zaheerabad Municipal Commissioner on promotion. B Sharath Chandra was promoted and transferred from GHMC to serve as Commissioner of Nalgonda Municipal Corporation.

Joint Director Narayana Rao directed all transferred officers to assume charge immediately at their new postings.

The order warned that disciplinary action would be taken against officers who fail to join duties without valid reasons. (Maxim News)
