- Hyderabad witnesses sharp fall as cold wave intensifies
Cold intensity has increased significantly across Telangana, with minimum temperatures dropping further since Thursday night. According to reports, the cold wave conditions have deepened, particularly affecting night and early morning hours. Residents in several districts, including Hyderabad, have experienced biting cold and heavy dew, making morning travel challenging for motorists.
Weather reports confirmed that the lowest temperature on Friday was recorded at 14.7 degrees Celsius in the valleys of Adilabad district. The same minimum temperature of 14.7 degrees was observed in Shabad of Rangareddy district, while Zaheerabad in Sangareddy recorded 14.8 degrees. Similarly, Shankarpally registered 14.9 degrees, and Moinabad recorded 15 degrees Celsius. These temperatures indicate a clear shift towards stronger cold wave conditions in the region.
Meanwhile, cold intensity has also increased in several other districts including Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Jagtial, Nizamabad, Rajanna Siricilla, Kamareddy, Medak, Siddipet, Sangareddy, Vikarabad, Rangareddy, and Hyderabad. Southern districts such as Mahabubnagar, Narayanpet, Nagar Kurnool, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Janagama, and Peddapalli also reported low-temperature patterns.
In Hyderabad, residents have begun feeling the full impact of this winter onset. Thick fog and dew early in the morning have reduced visibility, especially on highways and open stretches. As daily commuters and motorists face difficulties, authorities advise caution during early travel hours. Meteorological experts attribute the sharp dip in temperatures to cold winds from the northern plains, which are now affecting Telangana’s interior areas.
The continuing fall in minimum temperatures suggests that colder nights lie ahead. With conditions now resembling peak winter, citizens are preparing for a prolonged cold spell across the state.
