Sharmila said it was cruel that the tribal farmers were not given land pattas over the podu lands although they had been cultivating it since 2002.

She alleged that the State government was harassing 52 tribal families, who are fighting for the podu lands.

She said the podu land cultivation had been going on for a long time in the district and added that the officials of the Forest department had been neglecting the cultivators of these lands for a long time.
