Tribute To Telangana Martyrs In General Body Meeting Of GHMC 

Hyderabad, June 22: (Maxim News):  Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC)  General Body meeting presided by Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, Corporators, and top officials paid tribute to the martyrs by observing a two-minute silence to remember the sacrifices of martyrs on the last day of Telangana State decade celebrations today. 

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the Mayor said that the emergence of Telangana State was the dream of many martyrs and the long-standing desire of the people. She said that children born on this month have fought many battles for the realization of the dream of Telangana state for 60 years. Many heroes like Chakali Ailamma, Doddi Komuraiah, Phustha Sayanna, Harijana Muthamma, Bandi Yadagiri, Sheikh Bandagi, and Soyab Ullah Khan laid down their lives in the armed struggle of Telangana from 1942 to 1948 for the first time for land, for Bhukti, for the liberation of Vetti Chakiri. However, the mother of Telangana was not liberated. The Telangana Malidasha struggle started again in 1969, the movement got stronger with the participation of Osmania University students, intellectuals, and prominent political leaders. The first martyr of the movement was the sacrifice of a 17-year-old student named Shankar. She said that the replica of the martyrs of that time is evidenced by the monument in Gun Foundry.

From 1956 to 2001, the Telangana movement was filled with the sacrifices of many youths for the aspiration of the people, culture, traditions, water, funds, and appointments. She said that it has been poured. He said that Telangana was achieved under the leadership of KCR as a result of the sacrifices of the public movement.

Under the leadership of CM KCR, the newly built Secretariat was named after Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar and the Martyrs’ Memorial is a witness to the aspirations of the people as well as cultural traditions, and Telangana has stood as an example for the country by working for the welfare of the poor and weaker sections. She said that the installation of Amarula’s memorial in the waterscape, which gave life to the Telangana movement of that time, is KCR’s tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs. Srikantachari, the first martyr of Malidasa, who laid down his life for the dream of Telangana state, said on the occasion of Telangana Martyrs Day on the occasion of the decade celebrations.
