TRS MPs storm Parliament, demand Centre procure Paddy, fix MSP

Hyderabad, Dec.2 (Maxim News): TRS MPs today continued their protest in the parliament during its session on issues pertaining to the paddy procurement and clarity on the yearly target to clear the stocks from Telangana and others. The MPs of the ruling party in Telangana have raised their voices against the Centre demanding an immediate solution and clarity on the pending paddy procurement and fix targets to clear paddy and rice stocks from the state. The MPs showed placards at the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on the same matter. They also stormed into the well of the house in the upper house and the Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu instructed them to stop creating pandemonium.

The TRS MPs have raised slogans demanding the BJP Government in the Centre to come up with an MSP Act for farm produce, bring out a uniform farm procurement policy and address related issues. The MPs sought the Centre to take a call in favour of the demands of the farmers in the country.

The MPs staged protests at the Parliament and outside seeking solution to the farming issues, paddy, MSP, water row and others.

TRS MPs K Keshava Rao and Nama Nageshwar Rao led the protests in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha against the adamant attitude of the Centre on paddy and farmers issues. They displayed placards on the state demands for resolving the farmers’ issues. Despite repeated appeals by the speaker Om Birla in the Lok Sabha the TRS MPs staged protests. Also in the Upper House Venkaiah Naidu tried in vain to stop the TRS MPs from staging protests on the paddy and farming laws. Venkaiah expressed displeasure at the TRS Members for not heading to his repeated requests.

The MPs of the TRS have demanded that the Centre has to create confidence among the farmers after cancelling the three farm laws, declare a national farm policy and stop Gazette Notification on water row.

The TRS members of the parliament urged the Centre to come up with an Act fixing MSP to farm produce in the country.

They demanded that the Centre should initiate an action to resolve the long pending water dispute and opposed the Gazette Notification on power projects. Later the TRS MPs also staged protests at the Mahatma Gandhi statue on the parliament premises. (Maxim News)
