Civil Supplies Department has successfully completed its ambitious electronic point of sale (ePos) project, with all 17,000 fair price (FP) shops in Telangana now fully monitored online, Civil Supplies Commissioner CV Anand said at a press briefing on Thursday.
The successful execution of the project marks several firsts for the State, such as 100 per cent seeding of Aadhaar data of all beneficiaries, android connectivity for all ePos machines, and even a 15 per cent surplus of public distribution system (PDS) rice.
Speaking to Telangana Today later in the day, Anand said that ration portability – the major goal for 2018 – will be implemented within the first half of the year.
