TSNAB Seized 1000 KGs Ganja Worth RS. 3.5 Crores And Nabbed 4 Notorious Peddlars

Hyderabad, Oct 17 (Maxim News):  The sleuths of TSNAB along with Bollaram Police, Hyderabad, while conducting vehicle checking at Checkpost, Bollaram in view of upcoming General Elections.

to the Assembly constituencies in the state of Telangana apprehended (4) persons by
the name 1) Sakaram Rathod, 2) Ahmed Khan, 3) Digambar Ramu Pawar, and 4) Ajay Ramavtar
Chaurasiya 
@ Arjun in the possession of Narcotic Drug i.e., Ganja. Seized (1000) KGs Ganja
(1) DCM Van, (1) Car, and (4) Cell Phones all worth Rs.3.5 Crores from their possession.


1) Sakaram Rathod S/o Late Vinayak Rathod, age 35 yrs, Occ: Ganja Peddler R/o
Santosh Nagar, Bidar, Karnataka, N/o Vijayanagar Thanda, Vallepur (V), Aurad (Tq), Bidar,
Karnataka.

2) Ahmed Khan S/o Jaleel Khan, age 27 yrs, Occ: Lorry Driver, R/o Jamgi (V), Aurad (Tq),
Bidar, Karnataka.

3) Digambar Ramu Pawar S/o Late Ramu Pawar, age 30 yrs, Occ: Lorry Cleaner, R/o
Vijayanagar Thanda, Vallepur(V), Aurad(Tq), Bidar, Karnataka.

4) Ajay Ramavtar Chaurasiya @ Arjun S/o Ramavtar Chaurasiya, age 39 yrs, Occ: Ganja
peddler, R/o Room No.09, 3rd Floor, Shree Ganesh Kripa Apartment, Porkharan Road No.01,
Shastri Nagar, Thane, Maharashtra.

According to D.Sunitha Reddy, Superintendent of Police (West), TS Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) said the accused Sakaram Rathod while doing labor contracting work in the Sugar factory at Janwada, Bidar, observed many of the laborers were addicted to consuming Ganja and

there was a huge demand for Ganja in Bidar, Maharashtra and other parts of Karnataka. Some
of his acquaintances were indulging in the supply and sale of Ganja to these laborers. They
used to procure Ganja from Andhra and Odisha bring them to Bidar and supply them to the
local peddlers earning huge money. Since he was not getting the desired income, he also
decided to procure Ganja and supply in Bidar and Maharashtra and joined with his friends
Kashiram, Laxman, and Ravi and started supplying Ganja to peddlers in Bidar and
Maharashtra by purchasing from agency areas of Andhra Pradesh and Malkangiri of Odisha.
He also developed contact with one Ajay Ramavtar Chaurasiya @ Arjun of Thane,
Maharashtra and supplying Ganja to him. Since then whenever he is procuring Ganja from
Andhra and Odisha he is supplying to Ajay Ramavtar Chaurasiya @ Arjun also. In this process,
he was arrested in the above cases and went to jail.

After being released from jail, he decided to procure Ganja by himself and asked his cousin Jaidev
Chouhan (who is absconding) to assist him in procuring Ganja. For which he agreed. Later he
purchased one DCM van bearing No.TS 12UB 4985 with the assistance of Jaidev Chouhan for
doing Ganja transporting from AP to Odisha, Bidar; Mumbai and also engaged the accused
persons Ahmed Khan as driver and Digambar Ramu Pawar as cleaner to assist him in
transporting the Ganja. In the meantime Ajay Ramavtar Chaurasiya @ Arjun ordered him
Ganja in huge quantity. He assured him that he would make the arrangements for the supply of
Ganja to him in Thane. He contacted one Sanyasi Rao, a supplier of Ganja in Malkangiri,
Odisha through Kashiram asked to supply Ganja in huge quantities and paid an advance
amount of Rs.8 Lakhs for Ganja. He also procured (100) empty Crates from Humnabad with
the intention of transporting the Ganja by hiding under the Crates so as to avoid Police
checkings.

About four days back as per the directions of Sakaram Rathod the accused person Ahmed
Khan and Digambar Ramu Pawar went to Malkangiri in a DCM van by keeping the Crates and
loaded (1000) KGs of Ganja in DCM Van and returned to Auto Nagar, Rajahmundry where
the accused Sakaram Rathod joined them with his Maruthi Swift Car bearing No.MH14CC
4763 and loaded (4) bags containing (80) KGs Ganja in his Car from DCM Van and started
escorting the DCM Van to avoid Police checking. In the meantime, he informed the accused
Ajay Ramavtar Chaurasiya @ Arjun to join them at the city outskirts near Secunderabad.

Today while the accused persons were proceeding in the car, and DCM Van carrying Ganja, in the meantime the sleuth of TSNAB along with Bollaram Police apprehended the accused persons along with the following property and registered a case in Crime No.105/2023 U/s 8(c) r/w 20(b)(ii)(C), 29 of NDPS Act-1985 of Bollaram PS.
