Hyderabad, Sept.29 (Maxim News): The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) Employees unions has decided to go on strike from October 5. The joint action committee of the Employees union has made this announcement after holding detailed discussions on the issue.
The leaders of the JAC have said that they were going on strike demanding the fulfilment of their demands like merger of the Corporation with State government, revision of the salaries of employees, job security and recruitment of vacant posts. The leaders have urged the people of the state to extend their support to them in their fight for the fulfilment of their demands.
The chairman of the TSRTC JAC Aswathama Reddy said that they were going on strike as they didn’t have any option to fulfil their demands. He said that their demands were nothing but the recommendations made by a cabinet sub-committee headed by former minister Kadiyam Srihari last year. He also said that their main demand was the merger of the RTC with the State Government.
Batukamma, the biggest festival in Telangana, calls for an RTC strike during the Dasara season. It seems that the people, who were traveling to the villages for the holidays were in dire need of the strike. The Labor leaders say that the reason for the RTC’s loss was the government.
They said all the unions in the RTC had issued notices to the strike with 25 demands. The leaders have asked the people to give them their full support. They say workers of all departments, except the security and paramedical departments, will join the strike. (Maxim News)
