TSWREIS ‘Ignite Fest’ Brings Out the Best in Children

Hyderabad, Dec 19 (Maxim News): How to deal with the menace of plastic? How to conserve water using cost-effective methods to recharge ground water resources? Is peer pressure harmful or beneficial? Nanotechnology and treatment of diseases? Women make better politicians than men? Demonetization of the Indian economy and its impact? What is more useful for man’s success in life – knowledge, power or wealth?

The students of Social Welfare Residential Schools across Telangana displayed their creativity at TSWREIS mega event ‘Ignite Fest’ 2016, at Narsingi school, Hyderabad.

The Narsingi school wore a festive look today and the Ignite Fest witnessed the birth of budding scientists, painters, public speakers, leaders, communicators and film heroes and heroines. Speaking to the Presspersons, Chandana, a 9th class student from Chityal Social Welfare school said “I am very much concerned about the indiscriminate use of plastic and its harmful impact on living organisms and water percolation”.

We need to promote bio-plastic and traditional bags prepared from jute and other natural products to make the world a safer place to live. Her teammate Prathyusa says, we have devised a model for conservation of water for the benefit of the mankind and I will take awareness programmes on conservation of water in rural and urban areas.

The students displayed their creativity and talent in Painting, Spell Bee, Elocution, Debate, Essay-Writing, Science models as part of a three day Ignite Fest from 19 to 21st at Hyderabad.

Speaking to the media, Dr R.S. Praveen Kumar, Secretary, TSWREIS said, the scientific models displayed and issues debated by the students clearly show the concerns of the students towards sustainable development and common man.

There is a dire need to equip the students with analytical knowledge besides promoting leadership skills to meet the challenges of the 21st century. The Secretary thanked the visionary Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and the Minister for Scheduled Caste Development for their support for the empowerment of marginalized students in various spheres under the KG – PG Mission.
