Two Arrested For Transporting Rs. 1.21 Crore Hawala Money

Hyderabad, Oct 2 (Maxim News): Two persons who were carrying unaccounted money were apprehended by the Sultan Bazaar police late Tuesday. The police seized Rs. 1.21 crore in cash from them.

The two persons Laxman (27) and Vasanth (24), both natives of Rajasthan were carrying the cash in a bag on a motorcycle when the police on suspicion checked them at Boggulakunta crossroads.  The police found Rs. one crore in cash in the bag and seized it.

“Laxman told us that the cash belonged to a hawala agent Tarun.  A raid was conducted at his office and another Rs. 21 lakh was seized there,” said Sultan Bazaar Inspector, Srinivasa Chary.

The police have handed it over the cash of Rs. 1.21 crore to the Income Tax authorities for further action.  (Maxim News)
