Two Constable Charged In The Third-Degreee Case Against Woman

Hyderabad, Aug 17 (Maxim News):  Rachakonda Commissioner of Police, DS Chauhan responded in the case of third-degree assault on a woman who was taken to the station at midnight on Independence Day.  

Two policemen were charged in connection with this incident and ordered the suspension of head constable Shiva Shankar and female constable Sumalatha for assaulting the woman.  After investigating the incident of the attack on a woman and submitting a report, the Commissioner of Police issued an order suspending two policemen. 

According to the details of the case, Varalakshmi, who lives in Nandi Hills Colony road No. 4 under Meerpet Municipal Corporation, went to her relative’s house in Saroornagar for money for her daughter’s wedding. Varalakshmi was stopped by the police in the LB Nagar circle while returning to LB Nagar on the night of August 15.  Without giving any reason, they picked her up in their vehicle and took her to the police station, and subjected her to third-degree. The policemen further tortured the victim as she turned away. Later in the morning, the victim was released by the LB Nagar Police on the orders of an officer. The victim was unable to walk during the police attack.  The victim expressed her grief that the police beat her for no reason. There is widespread criticism of the police’s behavior towards women.  (Maxim News)
