Two-day All India Joint Official Language Scientific And Technical Seminar Successfully Concluded

Hyderabad: Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Government of India in collaboration with Joint Official Language Committee will organize a two-day First All India Joint Official Language Scientific and Technical Seminar on Wednesday and Thursday 13th, and 14th November 2024 at Centre for Advanced Systems (CAS), Shantivanam at Keesara Mandal, DRDO Township, Yadgarpally, Hyderabad. MSS Cluster Laboratories: (1) Centre for Advanced Systems (CAS) Yadgarpally, Hyderabad (2) Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Vigyan Kancha, Hyderabad (3) Advanced Systems Laboratory (ASL), Kanchanbagh, Hyderabad (4) Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDL), Kanchanbagh, Hyderabad (5) Directorate of Special Projects (DSP), Vigyan Kancha, Hyderabad (6) Advanced Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL), Chandigarh (7) Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, Odisha (8) SF Complex, Jagdalpur (Chhattisgarh), (9). It was successfully concluded under the joint auspices of DIC, Panagarh (West Bengal). The topics of this All India Joint Official Language Scientific and Technical Seminar were: Science and Technology in the field of defense, the latest techniques of testing and evaluation, artificiality and its impact in India, and the use of 5G technology in the defense sector and thought-provoking topics related to official language.

In the inaugural ceremony program, first of all, the lamp was lit, followed by prayer, and then the chairman of the joint seminar, Mr. Praveen Tandon, Scientist-G presented his welcome speech. Welcoming all present, he said that Hindi was given the status of official language by the Constituent Assembly on 14 September 1949. This year is being celebrated as the Diamond Jubilee Year of Official Language in the entire country. All India Joint Seminars have been organized every year since 2006 by the DRDO laboratories located in Hyderabad. 75 research papers were received for this symposium from Central Government offices across the country on the topics given for the symposium, which have been published in the souvenir published on this occasion.

The souvenir was released by the Chief Guest of the program and President of the University of Hyderabad, Prof. C. Annapurna. The messages published in the souvenir are of Dr. Samir V. Raghavendra Rao, Distinguished Scientist & Director TBRL, Chandigarh, Shri Katari Suchender, Distinguished Scientist & Director Integrated Test Range, Chandipur (Odisha), Dr. MVL Ramesh, Scientist H & General Manager SF Complex, Jagdalpur (Chhattisgarh). Apart from the organizing institutions, papers have been presented in this symposium from DEAL, Dehradun, DMSRDE, Kanpur, CABS, Bengaluru, DMRL, Hyderabad, University of Hyderabad, DIC, Panagarh, R&DE (E), Pune, DPAS Delhi, ARDE Pune, ITR Chandipur, PXE Chandipur, DEAL Dehradun, ECIL (Hyderabad) etc.

Dr. Sivasubramanian N. while addressing the symposium expressed happiness that for the first time, the All India Joint Official Language Scientific and Technical Seminar is being organized at the Centre for Advanced Systems (CAS). Through the seminar, information about the research and development work being done in DRDO will reach the common people and there will be an exchange of ideas through mutual discussions.

Chief Guest Dr. Annapurna said I congratulate all the laboratories, institutes, scientists, and technical and official language personnel associated with this event. By organizing an important seminar to discuss defense scientific writing in Hindi, you are doing a work of national importance. She further said that Hindi is not only the official language of our country, but it is also the language of crores of Indians.
