Two Female Accused Involved In Temple Idol Theft Apprehended: Recovered Idols
Hyderabad, Mar 11 (Maxim News): Under the supervision of S.M. Vijay Kumar, DCP West Zone has successfully solved the theft case of two Panchaloha idols stolen from Vinayaka Temple, Gurumurthy Nagar, S.R Nagar, and apprehended Two Female accused along with the stolen property. comprising of Shiva Parvathi Panchaloha Idols-2, Satyanarayana Swamy Idol – 1.
According to DCP Vijay Kumar, along with ACP SR Nagar Division P. Venkatramana, SHO T. Srinath Reddy, D.I M Gopal D.I of Police, with the support of DSI Y Suraj & Crime Staff Ramana Murthy, P Murali Krishna and HGi CH Vasu of S.R Nagar Police Station, said On 08.03.2025 at 20:30 hours, a complaint was lodged by Salimadugu Narender Reddy (56), Executive Officer, Endowments Department, Vinayaka Temple, regarding the missing idols. The complaint stated that a Shiva Idol (53.750 grams, 1’-3” Height, 0’-7” Width) and a Parvathi Devi Idol (33.200 grams, 1’-0” Height, 0’-5” Width) were missing from the temple’s Garbhagudi. The theft was first noticed by temple priest P. Naveen Kumar, who informed the complainant at 17:49 hours. Acting swiftly, the S.R Nagar Police launched a thorough investigation. Through meticulous efforts, Two suspects were identified and apprehended. The accused have been identified as: A-1: Adidala Swarna Latha, Age: 29 years, resident of NBT Nagar, Road No. 1, A-2: J Pavani, Age: 26 years, resident of NBT Nagar, Road No. 1, Banjara Hills.
During the investigation, the stolen Panchaloha idols were recovered from the possession of the accused. Further inquiries are underway to determine the motive behind the theft and to ascertain if they are linked to other similar crimes. A case has been registered, and legal proceedings are being carried out as per the law. The accused were arrested on 11.03.2025 at 10:15 hours and were produced before the Hon’ble court along with the remand report for judicial custody. The S.R Nagar Police commend the swift and effective action taken by the investigation team in recovering the stolen property and ensuring justice.
