Two-Year-Old Girl Drowns in SRSP Canal in Peddapalli

Peddapalli/Hyderabad, March 30 (Maxim News): A two-year-old girl, Das Gelli, tragically drowned in the SRSP D-83 canal near Kalvacherla, Ramagiri mandal, on Sunday.

The victim’s father, Das Sagar, a native of the Angul district, Odisha, had migrated to Kalvacherla seven months ago with his family to work in the SBK bricks industry.

While the parents were busy working at the brick kiln, the child accidentally fell into the canal and was swept away.

Search & Recovery Operation

Unable to find her, the worried parents searched the canal but in vain. They then alerted the police.

Sub-Inspector Chandra Kumar rushed to the spot and stopped the water release into the canal to assist in the search operation.

After an extensive search, the child’s body was found approximately 700 meters away from where she had fallen. (Maxim News)
