UGC “Rajbhasha” team visits MANUU

Hyderabad, May 24: The official language (Rajbhasha) team from University Grants Commission (UGC) visited Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) yesterday to inspect the implementation of official language, Hindi in office work.

The UGC officials, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Verma, Joint Secretary and Dr. Gopi Chand Merugu, Deputy Secretary, visited different offices, University library and expressed their satisfaction over the implementation of Raj Bhasha in MANUU. They also gave necessary suggestions.

Earlier, Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor and Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar welcomed the UGC members. Prof. Syed Najamul Hasan, Chairperson, Official Language Implementation Committee, MANUU introduced the committee members and Dr. Shagufta Perveen, Hindi Officer briefed about the details of Hindi usage in official notes & correspondence of the University. The senior officials and committee members attended the meeting.

International Conference on Translating Cultures at MANUU

The Department of English, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) in collaboration with National Translation Mission (NTM), Central Institute of Indian Languages Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Mysuru is organising a two day International Conference on “Translating Cultures: Exploring the Intersections of Language and Literature” on 25th and 26th May, 2023.

According to Prof. Shugufta Shaheen, Head Department, the conference aims to generate new insights and perspectives on the role of translation in bridging cultures and promoting cross-cultural understanding. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions and debates, share their research findings and experiences, and network with colleagues and fellow researchers from around the world.

Inaugural session will be held tomorrow at 11.00 am at CPDUMT Auditorium, MANUU campus.

MANUU awards PhD to Mohammad Amir

Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) has declared Mr. Mohammad Amir, S/o. Mr. Syed Abdul Allam Mojibi qualified in Doctor of Philosophy in Islamic Studies. He worked on the topic “Environmental Pollution – An Islamic Perspective” under the supervision of Prof. Mohd. Fahim Akhtar, Head, Department of Islamic Studies. The Viva-Voce was held on May 10, 2023.
