Uncontrollable Fire Even After Six Hours, Danger Of Building Collapse
Hyderabad, Jan 19 (Maxim News): The fire that broke out at the Deccan store in Ramgopalpet under Secunderabad is still not under control. It’s been almost six hours and firecrackers are still blowing. The accident was reported at around 11.00 am, and the firemen reached the spot and tried to bring the fire under control. Rescue operations became difficult due to the intensity of the fire.
At present, the authorities have deployed 20 fire engines at the incident site, deployed on three sides of the building, and are working to bring the fire under control. On the other hand, they are trying to control the fires with chemicals. It is difficult to reach the building due to heavy smoke and fire. Two firemen fell ill due to smoke and were rushed to hospital.
The rescue operation has become difficult as the fire is currently raging heavily. As a precautionary measure, the authorities have stopped the power supply in the area. Barricades were set up to prevent anyone from entering the vicinity of the building. Also, five ambulances were kept ready at the spot. GHMC and revenue officials are monitoring the relief efforts. Ramgopalpet police have registered a case of fire.
On this occasion, GHMC Disaster Relief Force (DRF) Chief Compati Vishwajeet sad that due to the high intensity of the fire, the firefighters could not go to the building. He said that the rescue operation will be delayed in this order. He said that they are evacuating the surrounding people so that there is no loss of life. If necessary, key decisions will be taken regarding the building. It was explained that there s a danger of the building collapsing at any moment and measures are being taken to prevent any problems even if it collapses. All precautions will be taken. (Maxim News)
