Union Cabinet Decides To Allocates Rs. 11,718 Crore For The Census

Delhi/Hyderabad, Dec 12 (Maxim News) The Union Cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi took key decisions today (Friday). The most important of which is the allocation of funds for the census. The Union Cabinet has approved the budget of Rs. 11,718 crore allocated for the census this time. The census will be conducted in two phases in 2027. However, this time the census will be conducted using digital technology. This is the first time that a census has been conducted using digital technology.

The Union Cabinet also approved reforms in coal mines. Similarly, the Cabinet also approved the change in the name of the Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. The name of the scheme has been changed to Pujya Bapu Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. Similarly, the working days under this scheme have been increased from 100 to 120. Minister Ashwini Vaishnav disclosed the decisions of the Union Cabinet to the media.

Similarly, the Union Cabinet has also approved the India-Oman Free Trade Agreement and full FDI in the insurance sector. The minister said that the Centre will also conduct a caste census along with the population census. However, he said that citizens are being given the option to hide their caste details. He clarified that if citizens hide their personal details in digital data, no one will see them, only basic information will be visible.  (Maxim News)
