Hyderabad: Unseasonal Rains are set to hit Hyderabad and several districts of Telangana, marking the first spell of such weather in 2026. Residents need to prepare for rains and hailstorms, while the India Meteorological Department has also forecast misty conditions in the coming days.
The rains of up to 20–40 mm are expected in the next week. According to weather enthusiast T. Balaji, who is known for accurate forecasts, thunderstorms are likely across Telangana on February 22, 23, and 24. Therefore, several districts may witness changing weather patterns during this period.
Hyderabad, Warangal, Siddipet, Khammam, Karimnagar, Suryapet, Bhadrachalam, and other districts are likely to receive rains and hailstorms. These conditions are expected along with IMD forecasted misty weather. “Rainfall accumulation can be 20–40 mm at a few places,” he forecast. Meanwhile, residents are closely monitoring updates as the week progresses.
Though the weather department has forecast mist or hazy conditions, it has not issued any alert. However, the department’s prediction states that mist or hazy conditions are likely to prevail during morning or night hours till February 20. As a result, visibility may remain low during early and late hours of the day.
