UoH Has No Right On 400-Acre Land, Alternate Site Allocated: Ponnam Prabhakar
Rajanna-Sircilla: Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Tuesday claimed that the University of Hyderabad had no right on the 400 acres land as alternate land was provided to university in Gopanapalle. In this regard, an agreement was made between the State government and the university 20 years ago, he said.
However, opposition parties were levelling allegations stating that the State government was selling university land, the Minister said at a press conference in Sircilla.
He alleged that neither the BRS nor BJP had bothered about the legal tussle over the land, with the University authorities also not claiming ownership of the land.
Saying that the State government had fought for the land in court since 2004, he said the government got ownership rights on 400 acres by winning the case in the court. UoH therefore had no right on the land, he said.
