UP CM must apologise for ‘Dalits’ insult’ in UP says Congress

Congress today demanded an apology from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for allegedly practising untouchabilty and demanded registration of case against him and the officers concerned under the SC/ST Atrocities Act.

The Congress lashed out at Mr Adityanath for allegedly practising “untouchability” when he visited a Dalit village, Kushinagar where the residing Dalits were allegedly distributed soaps to clean themselves prior to meeting him.

Addressing mediapersons, Congress spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP from Rajasthan, Abhishek Manu Singhvi said, “The evil practice which has been done away with centuries ago and for whose abolition our forefathers like Mahatma Gandhi dedicated their lives, has once again been revived by this act of Mr Yogi. ”The action to cleanse particularly the dalits has once again depicted the stale mentality of BJP and the RSS and the ideology they stand for.
