Uprooting Of Squatters: Attempts To Encroach On HMDA Lands 

Hyderabad, Aug 4 (Maxim News): Even though the Supreme Court of the country said that they are HMDA lands, the encroachers are angry.  When they tried to level about 50 acres worth Rs. 500 crores with three excavators, the police stopped them arrested the encroachers, and sent them to remand.

According To Shamshabad CI Balraj, There Are 181 Acres Of HMDA Land In Survey Number 725 Of Shamshabad Town  

Mohammad Khalid and Mohammad Shahbaz from the city were trying to level the land with three excavators on Saturday when the HMDA officials came to know the matter and informed the police.  The police reached the spot seized three excavators arrested the drivers Rashid, Nandu, and Nisar and sent them to remand. Police said that a case has been registered against Khalid and Shahbaz, who tried to grab it, and they are absconding. 

HMDA has acquired about 213.02 acres of land in various survey numbers under Shamshabad Municipal of Rangareddy District for the construction of a truck terminal in joint A.P.  In addition to these, there are lands belonging to properties.  In the past, two persons filed a lawsuit in the High Court claiming that 7 acres of 31 pits in survey number 725/21, 10 acres of 12 pits in survey number 725/23, and some other survey numbers are theirs.

A bench headed by the Chief Justice conducted the inquiry and decided that they were HMDA lands.  After losing the case in the High Court, the illegals went back to the Supreme Court and there was backlash there six months ago. However, the trespassers, eyeing the valuable land, tried to recapture it.  (Maxim News)
