- US warning to citizens amid rising Iran tensions
- Oman mediation between US and Iran on nuclear issue
Hyderabad: US warning to citizens to leave Iran immediately has been issued as tensions continue to rise across the country. The United States government has advised American citizens to depart Iran without delay due to the worsening security situation. The advisory comes amid reports of ongoing riots, possible travel disruptions, and growing uncertainty linked to strained US Iran relations.
According to the advisory, the virtual US embassy in Iran asked citizens to plan their exit on their own. It clearly stated that they should not expect assistance from the US government. Officials warned that unrest continues in several parts of Iran. Therefore, travel conditions may change suddenly. The embassy also cautioned that flight services could be suspended without notice. As a result, citizens were advised to remain in close contact with airlines.
The advisory highlighted communication risks as well. It said, “Internet service disruptions may continue. So consider alternative means of communication.” Meanwhile, US citizens were asked to keep their phones charged at all times and follow breaking updates through local media. Officials also warned people to avoid public gatherings. They urged citizens not to take part in demonstrations and to closely watch developments around them.
The embassy advised those who feel safe to leave Iran by land. It suggested routes through Turkey or the United Arab Emirates. However, it also warned that borders and flights could close at short notice. Therefore, citizens unable to leave were told to remain in safe locations. They were asked to prepare food, water, and medicine in advance. The advisory further said, “If you are unable to leave Iran, stay where you are in a safe area.” It added that people should avoid stepping out unless absolutely necessary.
The advisory also addressed dual nationality issues. It stated, “US Iranian citizens should travel with an Iranian passport because the country does not recognize US citizenship.” Meanwhile, the warning was issued amid speculation that the United States could take military action against Iran. Rising diplomatic tensions have added to fears among foreign nationals.
At the same time, Oman announced that it mediated between Iran and the United States on Iran’s nuclear program. The Omani Foreign Ministry shared this update on X. It said Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al Busaidi met separately with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, US Special Envoy Steve Whitlock, and US President Trump’s son in law Jared Kushner. The ministry said the mediation aimed to start technical and diplomatic consultations between the two countries. (Maxim News)
