Uttam Meets Murdered Lawyer Couple’s Family

Hyderabad, February 27 (Maxim News): Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President & MP Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress party would not keep quiet until all culprits involved in the murders of advocates Vaman Rao and his wife Nagamani were punished by the court.

The lawyer couple was brutally murdered in broad daylight in Peddapalli on February 17, 2021.

Accompanied with MLA D. Sridhar Babu, DCC Presidents Komaraiah , Laxman and Prakash Reddy, ex-MLA Vijaya Ramana Rao and other leaders, Uttam Kumar Reddy met the parents and family members of late Vaman Rao and Nagamani in their house in the Manthani constituency on Saturday. He conveyed the condolences and sympathies on behalf of the entire Congress party.

Kishan Rao, the father of Late Vaman Rao, said he did not have any confidence in the investigation of the local police. Responding to this, Uttam Kumar Reddy informed that the Congress leaders have already met Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan demanding a court-monitored CBI investigation. He assured the family of all support and said that the Congress party would not keep quiet until every individual involved in the crime is punished by the law.

Speaking to media persons later, Uttam Kumar Reddy said it was highly unfortunate that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has not even condemned the murder or assured speedy justice in the matter. He described the double murder as a result of a high-level conspiracy hatched by TRS leaders, in connivance with the sand and land mafia. He said expressed dissatisfaction over the pace of investigation being carried out by the local police. He alleged that a few police officials, including Police Commissioner Satyanarayana, were allegedly acting as TRS agents. Therefore, he said there were serious doubts that the double murder investigation might be influenced and hushed up.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that while the Chief Minister appears reluctant in ordering a CBI probe into the matter, the local police was not gathering the call data records of the accused and the victims to unearth the larger conspiracy and unmask the people involved in the double murder. He said that the Congress party would take up the matter with the Chief Justices of Supreme Court and High Court, besides raising it in the Parliament.

Earlier in the day, Uttam Kumar Reddy held a meeting with TPCC Legal Cell through Zoom App. Addressing the meeting, he advised the office bearers of Legal Cell to extend all possible help to the family of Late Vaman Rao and Nagamani. He said that the TRS Government was allegedly trying to shield the culprits as they belong to the ruling party. However, he asked the Legal Cell to keep a track of all developments in the case.

Meanwhile, Uttam Kumar Reddy asked the Legal Cell to campaign in favour of Congress MLC candidates from Graduates constituencies Ramul Naik (Warangal-Nalgonda-Khammam) and G. Chinna Reddy (Hyderabad-Rangareddy- Mahabubnagar). Legal Cell Chairman Damodar Reddy said that a meeting with advocates would be convened next week in connection with the MLC polls.

Later, Uttam Kumar Reddy, along with candidate Ramulu Naik, visited Kakatiya University and interacted with the students and faculty seeking their support in the MLC elections. (Maxim News)
