Uttam Urges Legal Fraternity To Support Congress In The Elections
Huzurnagar, November 15: Congress MP and Huzurnagar candidate Capt N. Uttam Kumar Reddy made a passionate appeal to the legal fraternity to rally behind the Congress party in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Addressing a meeting of the Bar Association in Huzurnagar on Wednesday, Uttam Kumar Reddy acknowledged the legal profession’s esteemed and impactful role in India’s independence and the Telangana movement. He emphasized the indispensable contribution of advocates to societal progress, recognizing their unwavering commitment to justice and upholding the law.
Expressing disappointment in the current BRS Govt, Uttam Kumar Reddy asserted that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had failed to fulfill several promises made to the legal community. They include the assurance of Rs 2 lakh health and accidental insurance coverage for advocates and their spouses. Additionally, the state government had pledged Rs 10 lakh financial assistance in case of accidents. But this promise too remained unfulfilled, he said.
Highlighting the pivotal role advocates played in the separate Telangana statehood movement, Uttam Kumar Reddy lamented that despite promises made by the Chief Minister, the proposed health cards for advocates never materialized. Similarly, the assurance of allocating funds ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 5 lakh to each district Bar Association based on membership remained unrealized.
Undeterred by the unfulfilled promises, Uttam Kumar Reddy reassured the legal community that the next Congress Government would prioritize the welfare of advocates. Encouraging unity among advocates, he urged them to actively contribute to the ousting of the current administration and bring the Congress party to power. He said that the next Congress Government would take immediate action to address the demands related to health, housing, and other related issues.
Confident in the growing support for the Congress party across various sections of society, Uttam Kumar Reddy expressed optimism that voters would choose Congress candidates in the upcoming elections. He said all advocates should contribute to the broader well-being of society by supporting the Congress party in the coming elections. (Maxim News)
