Hyderabad: Uttar Dakshin 15th Season will bring a jugalbandi of Hindustani and Carnatic music to the city, continuing its long running tradition of classical collaboration. The annual concert series is organised by Surmandal in association with Vivid Arts and Entertainment. The organisers announced that the 15th edition will present a meeting of two major classical traditions on one stage.
The concert will take place on Saturday, 14th February 2026, at Ravindra Bharathi in Hyderabad. It will begin at 6:30 pm. The organisers said the event will feature a jugalbandi by senior artists from North and South India. Over the years, Uttar Dakshin has focused on presenting such collaborations. It has aimed to highlight unity through classical music.
Uttar Dakshin 15th Season will feature Hindustani vocalist Pandit Jayateerth Mevundi Ji. He is known for his powerful gayaki. He is also associated with the Jaipur Atrauli lineage. He will share the stage with Carnatic flautist Shri Shashank Subramanyam Ji. Shri Shashank Subramanyam Ji is globally known for his work on the bamboo flute. He is recognised for his virtuosity and his innovative approach within the Carnatic tradition. Together, the two artists will present a jugalbandi that reflects the spirit of the concert series.
Meanwhile, the performance will also include a distinguished percussion ensemble. Shri V. Narhari Ji will represent the Hindustani rhythmic tradition on the tabla. At the same time, Shri Satish Patri Ji will perform on the mridangam. His role will bring the depth and precision of Carnatic laya to the concert. The organisers stated that the artists will create an evening shaped by melody, rhythm, and spontaneous creativity.
Uttar Dakshin 15th Season is presented by State Bank of India. The concert also has the support of cultural partners and patrons. The organisers said the series continues its legacy of promoting India’s classical heritage. It also seeks to encourage dialogue between different musical traditions.
