Hyderabad: A van overturns after a tyre burst in Nirmal district on Thursday, leaving around 15 members of a marriage party injured. The accident occurred at Kondapur village in Nirmal rural mandal when the vehicle carrying the wedding guests lost control and overturned.
Police said the van was carrying people who were travelling to attend a wedding. However, the journey ended in an accident after a tyre burst near the outskirts of Kondapur village. The sudden tyre burst caused the driver to lose control, and the vehicle overturned on the road.
As a result, around 15 passengers suffered injuries in the accident. Police said 13 people sustained minor injuries, while two persons were seriously injured. Therefore, authorities rushed the injured to a hospital in Nirmal for treatment. Doctors stated that the condition of the two seriously injured persons was critical.
Meanwhile, officials quickly responded after receiving information about the accident. Nirmal Superintendent of Police Dr Janaki Sharmila reached the spot along with her team. She ensured that the injured victims were shifted to the hospital without delay and received proper medical attention.
Later, the police officer also enquired about the circumstances that led to the accident. Preliminary information suggested that the bursting of a tyre caused the mishap. However, authorities have begun a formal investigation to confirm the exact cause of the accident.
Police also revealed that the victims were travelling from Sonapalli village in Echoda mandal. They were on their way to attend a wedding in Armoor town in Nizamabad district when the accident occurred. The van overturned before reaching the destination, leading to injuries among the passengers.
Soon after the incident, police registered a case against the van driver. Investigators have now started a probe into the accident. Meanwhile, officials continue to monitor the condition of the injured persons who are receiving treatment in the hospital.
