Vanama IP Dismissed: High Court Refused To Stay Verdict Invalidating His Election As An MLA

Hyderabad, July 27 (Maxim News): Vanama Venkateswara Rao is in trouble again in the Telangana High Court. The High Court refused to stay the verdict invalidating his election as MLA. The Interim Petition filed by Vanama was dismissed.

It is known that on July 25, the High Court ruled that the election of Vanama Venkateshwara Rao, MLA of Kothagudem district of Bhadradri Kothagudem district is invalid. He was fined Rs. 5 lahks for submitting an election affidavit with false details. In addition, the petitioner Jalagam Venkata Rao was also ordered to pay the court costs. It has been announced that Jalagam Venkatarao will continue as Kothagudem MLA from December 12, 2018.

In the 2018 election, Vanama Venkateswara Rao, who contested from Kothagudem on behalf of the Congress and won (he later joined BRS), filed a petition in the High Court by Jalagam Venkata Rao who contested on behalf of TRS, seeking to cancel the election. Justice G. Radharani conducted a long hearing and issued an 84-page verdict on Tuesday.

However, Vanama Venkateswara Rao filed a lunch motion petition on Wednesday to stay the verdict. He asked for time to go to the Supreme Court. The Court heard the arguments on the urgent petition to this extent yesterday and reserved the verdict. Recently Vanama’s petition has been dismissed refusing to stay the judgment. (Maxim News)
