Vasavi Club Budhapurnima has pledged ₹50,000 to improve midday meal facilities at ZPHS Boduppal, benefiting more than 700 government school students.
The contribution will fund flooring work in the area where students have their breakfast and midday meals. The initiative was announced during the club’s Independence Day celebrations at the school on Saturday.
Telukuntla Venkat Raghuram, President of Vasavi Club Budhapurnima, announced the contribution in the presence of club members and school Headmaster G Ashok Kumar.
Tambola Proceeds to Fund School Improvement
The initiative follows a request from the school to improve the meal area. The proposed flooring is expected to provide students with a cleaner, safer and more comfortable space.
The club plans to begin the work soon and complete it before September 5, when the club and school will jointly celebrate Teachers’ Day.
Interestingly, the ₹50,000 contribution will come from proceeds of a Tambola fundraising programme organised by the club last month.
Proddaturi Veerabhadrudu, who led the fundraising initiative, said the proceeds were being used to address a genuine need identified by the school.
Club members and their families also offered additional support during the Independence Day programme. Several members volunteered to stitch or sponsor uniforms for around 15 economically disadvantaged students.
Kuncham Krishna, Secretary of Vasavi Club Budhapurnima, said the initiative aimed to create a better and more comfortable environment for students.
The programme was attended by Treasurer Pampati Praveen, Kandukuri Ramesh Gupta, Proddaturi Veerabhadrudu and other club members and their families.
