Venkat Reddy replies to show-cause notice issued by party high command

Hyderabad, Nov.7 (NSS): Congress party MP and former minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy today said he had replied to the show-cause notice issued to him by the party high command two days back. He said the party leader Tariq Anwar was not available to go through his reply. Venkat Reddy said he was touring his constituency for works.

Commenting on his absence from the padayatra of the party leader Rahul Gandhi, he questioned how could he join padayatra when a show-cause notice was served on him? He made it clear that he would take part in the padayatra only after getting a clean chit from the party high command.

The younger brother of Venkat Reddy, Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy not only quit from his MLA post, but also resigned from the Congress party in order to join the BJP. After joining the BJP, he contested as the saffron party candidate in his Munugodu Assembly constituency and lost at the hands of ruling TRS party candidate K. Prabhakar Reddy. The Congress party alleged that Venkat Reddy ignored the pleas of the party candidate Palvai Sravanthi to campaign for her in the by-election campaigning in order to help his brother. He kept himself away from the Munugodu constituency till the completion of the by-election. (NSS)
