VH asks govt to not damage Sport grounds for idols’ immersion

Hyderabad, Aug.27 (NSS)Senior Congress leader V Hanumanth Rao today demanded that the State government not damage the existing grounds in the in the name of upcoming Ganesh idol immersion program. He said the immersion of idols in the grounds in the State would cause a lot of inconvenience to the sportspersons and added that the State government was not considering the damage to be incurred to the grounds.

Stating that Vinayaka chavithi and idols’ immersion program are held for 15 days, VH said the State government has no proper action plan. He demanded that the State government dig tanks around the city and make arrangements for the immersion of Ganesha idols. He asked the State government to not allow any Ganesh idols coming from the villages located around Hyderabad. He said while the previous Congress governments encouraged sports, the TRS government was damaging all the sports facilities. (NSS)
