VH Wants Leader From Weaker Sections As TPCC Chief
Hyderabad, Nov.22 (Maxim News): Congress senior leader V Hanumantha Rao on Friday declared that he would not leave his party till his last breath.
Addressing mediapersons at Gandhi Bhavan here today, Hanumantha Rao said late Indira Gandhi had implemented several welfare programs for the uplift of the weaker sections in the country. He said the Congress had distributed land to landless poor in the country and nationalized all the banks. He reiterated he would abide by orders of party supremo Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi throughout his life.
Rao also said Sonia Gandhi had also implemented several pro-weaker sections policies like Indira Gandhi. Stating that the Congress returned to power under leadership of BC leader D. Srinivas earlier, he urged the party leadership to give the PCC president post to a leader from the weaker sections of the State. (Maxim News)
