Vijay meets Governor | Hyderabad, May 7: Vijay meets Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar as the TVK chief intensified efforts to form the next government in Tamil Nadu after the assembly election results.
Vijay submitted a formal letter to the Governor at Raj Bhavan seeking an invitation to form the government. Moreover, he stated that Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam has the required support to prove majority in the Assembly.
The TVK leader informed the Governor that the Congress party had extended support to his alliance. Therefore, he requested an opportunity to demonstrate strength on the Assembly floor.

Sources said Vijay assured the Governor that he could establish majority support through a floor test. Meanwhile, TVK leaders continued discussions with smaller parties to strengthen their numbers further.
Political circles in Chennai remain focused on the Governor’s next move. In addition, speculation has increased over possible alliance adjustments in the coming days.
TVK insiders indicated that the party may explore legal options if the Governor delays a decision on government formation. Therefore, discussions within the party reportedly include the possibility of approaching the Supreme Court.
The Tamil Nadu election outcome has significantly changed the state’s political landscape. Vijay’s emergence as a major force has challenged the long standing dominance of traditional Dravidian parties.
