Hyderabad: Viksit Bharat Dialogue 2026 will bring together young leaders from across India in New Delhi from January 9 to January 12. The Department of Youth Affairs is organising the second edition of the national dialogue at Bharat Mandapam. The initiative aims to strengthen youth participation in India’s long term development journey and support the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.
The Department of Youth Affairs is organising the event under the leadership of Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports and Labour and Employment Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya. The Dialogue has been reimagined from the National Youth Festival. It is designed as a national platform where young leaders can present ideas and solutions for the country’s future. Meanwhile, the programme will encourage direct engagement between youth, policymakers, and national and global icons.
Viksit Bharat Dialogue 2026 focuses on nurturing leadership among young people aged 15 to 29 years. The platform supports inclusive participation, innovation, and solution oriented thinking. Therefore, the Dialogue aims to help youth convert ideas into action aligned with India’s development goals. The organisers stated that the event seeks to empower young citizens as partners in nation building.
A central element of the Dialogue is the Viksit Bharat Challenge Track. This track follows a four stage process. The Digital Quiz stage took place during September and October 2025 through the MY Bharat and MyGov platforms. It recorded participation from more than 50.42 lakh youth from all States and Union Territories. Later, the Essay Challenge held between October and November 2025 received over two lakh submissions across ten national priority themes.
The process then moved to the State level Vision Deck Challenge during November and December 2025. This stage shortlisted participants based on leadership qualities, clarity of vision, and collaboration skills. The Challenge Track will conclude with a National Championship during Viksit Bharat Dialogue 2026. A total of 1,500 shortlisted young leaders will present their ideas in New Delhi.
The Dialogue also includes a Cultural and Design Track with competitions held at district, state, and national levels. In addition, the second edition introduces new verticals such as Design for Bharat and Tech for Viksit Bharat Hack for a Social Cause. International participation will also take place, with youth delegates from the Know India Programme and BIMSTEC nations attending.
The four day programme will conclude on January 12, which is observed as National Youth Day. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will participate in the final day events. He will interact with young leaders and hear their ideas for nation building. The Viksit Bharat Dialogue 2026 is expected to host nearly 3,000 participants and reinforce youth as key stakeholders in achieving Viksit Bharat@2047.
