VOAs Role Key In Rural Development: Jupally
Hyderabad, July 27 (Maxim News): Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Jupally Krishan Rao today exhorted VOAs (Village Organisations Assistants) to involve in Haritha Haram and Swachch Telangana programs of the government and compete for village development.
Addressing a VAOs second state level conference at Jangareddy Function Hall at Sagar Ring Road here, the minister appreciated them for playing key role in creating awareness among womenfolk. Krishna Rao stated that Chief Minister K Chandraekhar Rao gets the credit of giving Rs 3000 honorary salary to them. Of course, the VOAs have been in the forefront in the villages development and uniting the women force together.
Earlier, they were deprived of minimum wages and the TRS Government is offering them some amount now he remarked. The minister also asked the VOAs to make efforts to strengthen the village unity associations and get Rs 2000 more salary in future. There is big scope for spending adequate funds in education and health facilities in the villages and VOAs have to work hard to take them to the people he said. Steps are on to strengthen the government education and health services and free education and health services to the people.
It is for the VOAs to take up every program and scheme of the government to the people doorsteps besides involving people in green drive and sanitation in the villages. He also suggested them to make sincere efforts to strengthen economic conditions in the villages. They should focus on setting up house hold industries locally and make use of online marketing services by motivating the women the women said.
BC Welfare Minister Jogu Ramanna, who was present, said KCR took steps to give the VOAs honorary salary. They must take initiative to make success the Haritha Haram program in villages by encouraging each one to plant six saplings at least, Ramanna said. (Maxim News)
