Waliullah Sameer appointed Hyderabad City Congress Minorities Dept Chairman
Hyderabad, December 4 (Maxim News): Eminent entrepreneur Mohammed Waliullah Sameer, who joined the Congress party recently, has been appointed as the Chairman of Hyderabad City Congress Committee (HCCC) Minorities Department.
The letter of appointment issued by TPCC Minorities Dept Chairman Shaik Abdullah Sohail, was officially handed over to Waliullah Sameer by AICC Minorities Dept Chairman Nadeem Jaweed on Tuesday. TPCC Spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin was also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Sameer thanked Congress President Rahul Gandhi, TPCC President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Nadeem Javeed and Shaik Abdullah Sohail, for assigning him such an important responsibility. He assured that he would work hard to bring minorities closer to the Congress party and also to represent and resolve the problems being faced by various minority communities.
Sameer said as the new Chairman of HCCC Minorities Dept he would undertake a comprehensive study to identify the issues concerning youth belonging to minority communities. “Congress party is coming to power in the elections being held on December 7. Our party has given several assurances to minorities in its manifesto. As the Chairman of HCCC Minorities Dept, I will ensure that the next People’s Front implement all the promises being made with the minorities including Muslims,” he said.
He said minorities; constitute nearly 50% of total population in Hyderabad. However, he said the representation of minority youth in jobs, both in private and public sector, is too negligible. Unemployment among minorities’ youth is widespread. There are lakhs of qualified graduates among Muslims who need a proper job and also lakhs of others need training in different skills. I will try to ensure that the minorities youth get their due share in jobs and the jobless youth get monthly allowance of Rs. 3,000,” he said.
“With the Congress party forming government in Telangana State, the role and responsibilities of Minorities Department of TPCC would get stronger. I will try to act as a link between the State Government and Congress party to resolve the problems being faced by people. While we will bring government schemes to the people, we are also take people’s grievances to the government,” he said.
Sameer said he was proud to have succeeded Shaik Abdullah Sohail, who had served on this post, for several years. “We have a strong organisational structure of Congress cadre in every lane and by lane in all 150 divisions in GHMC. We will strengthen it further and also impart training to our cadre to acquaint them on the party’s ideology and policies.
He appealed to the people of Telangana to vote in favour of Congress party and other alliance partners – TDP, TJS and CPI.
Nadeem Jaweed and Shaik Abdullah Sohail congratulated Sameer on his appointment and expressed confidence that he would perform up to the expectations of the party High Command. They also hoped that Sameer’s appointment would bring minorities youth closer to Congress party. (Maxim News)
