Ward System For Fast Resolution Of Public Problems: Mayor

Hyderabad, July 6 (Maxim News):  Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).  Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi said that the ward system has been made to solve public problems quickly.

The Mayor made a surprise inspection of the Rajendranagar ward office set up at the National Institute of Rural Development, Panchayat Raj (NIRD), today,  the mayor inquired about the resolution of the complaints registered with the computer operator of the ward office. The mayor warned that if the complaint is resolved according to the citizen chart as soon as the complainant complains about the street light, there should not be neglect in taking action, failing which disciplinary action will be initiated. .

The Mayor directly called the complainants on the resolution of complaints and inquired about the ward services and the performance of the officials. The Mayor said that after making the ward system available to the people, the problems related to other departments and other circles can be solved apart from those related to GHMC. The administrative officer should work hard to coordinate with the concerned officers of the ward on issues like tree cutting, electricity supply, waterworks, mosquito prevention, and dog control through UBD. According to the city charter, every problem can be solved in the ward office but they should inform the officer against them.

Talking about sanitation… Garbage should be removed from time to time and moved to the transfer station. Instead of burning the garbage, the officials want to educate the public about the harm caused by it in case of field-level tours.

Municipal and Urban Development Minister KTR reviewed the performance of the ward system and problem-solving with the officials and the Mayor directed the ward officials to take the cooperation of the Corporators in solving the problems.

Ward Office officials will visit the field from 10.30 am to noon and take steps to solve the problems on the spot. From 3 PM to 5 PM, they will be in the office and attend to the registered complaints. Apart from that, steps will be taken to make the officers and the public available in the ward office one day a week from morning to evening. 24 parks in Rajendranagar are not subject to encroachment and the concerned authorities have been ordered to take action.

She said that action should be taken on C&D waste. Officials said that steps should be taken to resolve the files with them expeditiously. Ward staff have been directed to ensure that the areas where the night shelters are kept clean.

On this occasion, the mayor of the city directly discussed catch pits, drainage, street lights, sanitation, and town planning with the concerned officials. Venkataiah, who has been working as a sanitation worker in Rajendranagar for 17 years without being absent, was honored by the mayor.
