Wasim Rizvi, former chairman of Shia Waqf Board accepts Sanatan Dharma
New Delhi: Wasim Rizvi, former chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Shia Waqf Board, accepted Hindu religion today in a Dasna temple in Ghaziabad.
Rizvi in his will had expressed that his dead body should be cremated according to the traditional Hindu ritual, and not buried after his death. Rizvi also mentioned that his funeral pyre should be lit by a Hindu seer Narasimha Ananda Sarawati of the Dasna temple in Ghaziabad.
Muslim community in Hyderabad had earlier staged a protest against former Uttar Pradesh Shia Waqf Board chairman Wasim Rizwi, who has alleged to have made objectionable comments about Prophet Mohammed in his book.
The case was lodged against Rizvi based on a complaint filed by All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimee (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi over the former’s book on Prophet Mohammed.
