WATCH: A Brave Woman Constable Saves Man from Oncoming Train

In a remarkable display of courage and presence of mind, RPF Constable K Sumathi averted a potential tragedy by swiftly rescuing a person from the railway tracks at Purwa Medinipur railway station. CCTV footage captured the heart-stopping moment when the man deliberately laid himself on the tracks, seemingly attempting suicide. However, thanks to the quick thinking of Constable Sumathi, a disaster was prevented as she leaped into action and pulled the individual to safety mere moments before an approaching train zoomed past.

The CCTV footage showcases the distressing scene, with the man stepping off the platform and positioning himself on the tracks. It is Constable Sumathi’s bravery and split-second decision-making that shines through as she, stationed on the opposite platform, immediately recognizes the danger and rushes to the rescue. Without hesitation, she reaches the endangered individual and manages to pull him to safety, narrowly avoiding a catastrophic incident as the train whizzes by.

Constable K Sumathi’s selfless act and heroic intervention have garnered widespread praise and admiration. Her quick response and fearlessness undoubtedly saved a precious life.
