WATCH | A Rare Sight: Revanth and KTR Share Stage Against BJP’s Delimitation Policy

Chennai/Hyderabad, March 22 (Maxim News): A key meeting of southern states on the BJP’s proposed delimitation of parliamentary constituencies took place in Chennai. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin led the meeting, bringing together leaders from various states to discuss how the plan could negatively impact the South.

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud, BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), and former ministers Niranjan Reddy and Jagadish Reddy attended the meeting. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar were also present. The leaders discussed the potential losses for the southern states and planned their next steps to oppose the Centre’s move.

However, what caught everyone’s attention was the sight of Revanth Reddy and KTR on the same stage. In Telangana, Congress and BRS are bitter political rivals, attacking each other almost daily. Revanth Reddy frequently criticizes the previous BRS government and its leader K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), while KTR regularly targets the current Congress government’s policies. From corruption allegations to disputes over development projects, the two parties rarely agree on anything.

Congress leaders accuse KTR of corruption in the Formula E car race case, while opposition leaders remind everyone of Revanth Reddy’s alleged involvement in the cash-for-vote scandal. Given their history of conflict, their sudden unity on this issue has sparked intense debate.

Political experts say that despite their differences, leaders come together when Telangana’s interests are at risk. They compare this to the Telangana movement, where people from all backgrounds united for a common cause.

Meanwhile, if Congress and BRS decide to join the Joint Action Committee (JAC) proposed by Stalin, they will have to work together on this issue. This could create an unusual political situation where Telangana’s biggest rivals fight side by side against the BJP’s delimitation policy, claiming it is necessary to protect Telangana’s representation in Parliament.
