Hyderabad, Oct 8 (Maxim News): The clash between the AIMIM and Congress leaders in Asifnagar led to severe tensions. The leaders of the two parties clashed in the dispute over the construction of the CC road. CC road construction work started last Friday with a cost of Rs. 17 lakh in Feroze Gandhi Nagar, Opposite Asif Nagar Police Station, Vijayanagar Colony under Nampally Constituency.

As part of the work, contractor Umar dug the road. Locals have complained in Humayun Nagar PS that work should be done from one side instead of both sides. However, the house of local Congress leader Osman is also on the same road. Osman was injured recently after tripping on gravel poured for road works.

Nampally constituency Congress leader and contested MLA Foroz Khan came there on Monday evening to visit him. Local MIM leaders called MLA Majid Hussain after Foroze Khan said that the road works were not being done properly.  Immediately he reached there with his followers, the MLA and his followers rushed to the top of Feroz Khan. Feroze Khan’s cohorts also took part in every attack.

In this sequence, they attacked each other with sticks and stones. Asif Nagar Police reached there and when they did not listen, they charged both sides with batons. Yet no one backs down. As hundreds of people gathered there was tension. While the locals were inside the houses with their doors locked, those who came for work on the road ran to the houses, Immediately, forces were deployed under the command of South and West Zone DCP Chandramohan. Asif Nagar ACP Vijaya Srinivas reached there and pacified both groups. MIM corporators filed a complaint against Feroze Khan in Humayun Nagar PS whole the followers of Feroze Khan also filed a complaint, said DCVP Chandramohan.

WhatsApp groups have been abuzz with reactions from the people. Some of them are:

People of Old City have also appealed to Hyderabad police commissioner CV Anand to look into the issue.

A resident on condition of anonymity says, “We want the sewage works to be carried out. Who should we approach if the sitting MLA does not listen to us? Feroze Khan and his team came and inspected the place. They also met the injured senior citizen.”

Another resident says, “This behavior of AIMIM creates fear among the people. This will send a message to many of them not to indulge with Congress workers in the Old City area. They do not want any other party to work in this area.”

The political heat can be felt at Nampally as there is an attempt by both Congress and AIMIM to continue with their hold on the area.
