WATCH | HYDRA Targets Illegal Constructions In Gandipet

Hyderabad, Aug 18 (Maxim News): Operation HYDRA has been launched in the suburbs of Hyderabad, focusing on illegal constructions in the Rangareddy district. The operation zeroed in on the Full Tank Level (FTL) of Gandipet Pond, where several buildings had been erected within the buffer zone, violating environmental regulations.

The buildings, which included apartments, were found to be in direct violation of land-use norms. After receiving numerous complaints, HYDRA Commissioner Ranganath initiated the operation, leading to the current crackdown.

Amidst solid infrastructure and the heavy presence of law enforcement, demolition crews have begun tearing down the illegal structures. The operation has not been without resistance; several locals who attempted to prevent the demolitions were detained by the authorities.
