Hyderabad: A massive Indore house fire killed seven people after flames engulfed a multi storey home in the Brijeshwari Annexe area of Indore. Authorities launched rescue operations soon after the incident.
The fire broke out in the early hours. Soon after, thick black smoke covered the area. Eyewitnesses also saw flames spread across several floors. As a result, many residents got trapped inside the building.
Local officials acted quickly. Teams led by District Magistrate Shivam Verma sent fire tenders and rescue staff. Meanwhile, emergency teams tried to control the flames and search for survivors. The incident turned the residential area into a scene of panic and grief.
A neighbour of Manoj Pugalia, whose house caught fire, said, “We rescued three people safely before the police, fire brigade teams reached.” Later, emergency teams continued the rescue work.
According to Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh, an electric vehicle charging point explosion outside the house may have started the fire. After that, the blaze spread rapidly. Moreover, more than ten gas cylinders inside the house exploded. Therefore, the fire became more intense.
Officials confirmed seven deaths. However, rescue teams saved three people. The house belongs to Manoj Pugalia, who runs a polymer business. Reports said flammable chemicals stored inside the house may have helped the fire spread faster.

District Magistrate Shivam Verma said, “Rescue operations are underway. The fire has been brought under control. Seven people have lost their lives. Two floors have been cleared but our team is checking one more floor.”
Firefighters fought the blaze for several hours. Later, they brought the fire under control. Meanwhile, NDRF teams searched the damaged structure for any remaining victims.
Officials said the rescue work shows the difficulty of firefighting in crowded urban areas. However, teams continued their efforts despite dangerous conditions.
