WATCH | Massive Row Over Lalitha Bagh Land Demolition: HYDRAA Violated High Court Orders Alleged
Hyderabad, Dec 20 (Maxim News): Serious allegations have been levelled against HYDRAA in connection with the Lalitha Bagh–Kandikal land dispute,Officials alleged to have been acted in violation of a subsisting High Court stay order by demolishing sheds and forcibly dispossessing occupants from the disputed land, reportedly valued at around ₹400 crore.
According to available records, the then Andhra Pradesh High Court, in Second Appeal No. 1250 of 2010, had categorically restrained the State Government and Revenue authorities from interfering with the lawful and peaceful possession of the appellants over the disputed property until further orders. Despite this explicit judicial direction, HYDRAA have carried out demolition activities on the site.
Those affected claim that the action amounts to a blatant disregard of court orders and have termed it a case of contempt of court. They allege that sheds were razed and occupants were removed without legal authority, even though the stay order continues to be in force.
Legal experts state that any action taken during the operation of a judicial injunction directly undermines the rule of law. They point out that officials found guilty of defying court orders may face serious legal consequences, including personal liability under contempt proceedings.

The incident has raised critical questions about accountability of authorities and adherence to judicial mandates. The affected parties are expected to approach the court again, seeking strict action against the officials responsible and restoration of status quo as per the High Court’s order. (Maxim News)
